People may have different opinions on this but in some respects kids are way smarter then they used to be. (Please notice the emphasis on some) Perhaps I should be a tad bit clearer. When it comes to stalking their favorite celebrity….kids are pretty darn smart. 

When I was a kid and wanted to write my favorite celebrity or get an autograph I would try and find their fan clubs. The closest to a celebrity autograph that I ever received was Micky Mouse’s signature from Disneyland. 

Today kids just have to google their favorite celebrity to find out how to get in touch with them, follow them on twitter or like them on facebook. Something that I don’t understand though is calling their talent agency to talk to them. This happens ALL THE FREAKING TIME. First of all where do these kids find out who their talent agent is? Second of all how did they get the idea to contact their talent agents in the first place? Finally, do they really think their favorite teen heart throb and idol are just going to be on the other line?

Apparently they do or else they wouldn’t call

Teen Stalker: OMG!!!!

(great here we go) 

Me: How may I help you?

Teen Stalker: OMG!!!! 

(OMG WHAT?!?!)

*silence*

Teen Stalker: um like hello?

Me: yes how may I help you

Teen Stalker: OMG Is like __________ there?

Me: No they are not

Teen Stalker: Where are they? I want to talk to them and tell them how I much I love them

(listen teen stalker do you really think I am just going to tell you where they are? I see a flaw in your plan my dear)

Me: This is their talent agency not their direct line

Teen Stalker: But this is the number I have for them

Me: Yes this is their talent agency 

Teen Stalker: But I want to tell them I love them

Me: I will be sure to pass along that exact message 

Teen Stalker: *screams*

(and now I am deaf)

Breaking news…. THIS JUST IN….

WE LIVE IN THE DIGITAL AGE SO STOP WITH THE HANDWRITTEN LETTERS PEOPLE!!! 

I really wish I had a color scanner so that you the reader could get the full affect of this letter. I will try to the best of my ability describe what this looks like. First of all its on pink stationary…. like probably out of a Hello Kitty notebook and its written in purple ink. Also please tell me that you noticed the kiss on the paper….yup this person KISSED the handwritten note (yes I am going to say note because this reminds of something you would find littered in a middle school hallway) with BRIGHT PINK lipstick!!! I get the whole trying to stand out thing but this person is standing out for ALL the WRONG reasons 

Since this is more legible than our last letter, I do not feel the need to translate. Let’s just dive in shall we

Okay I have already discussed the kiss (*smacks forehead*) so I want to refer your attention to the part where “the most important things is the cover letter”. Yes it is and clearly you did not get the memo that the cover letter should be professionally written and oh I don’t know….TYPED OUT! Also why write “So here I am at Taco Bell writing it”. Really? You are at TACO BELL writing out a cover letter to a prestigious agency for your career? For your dream? Really…really….REALLY?!?! 

I don’t even know where to begin when she describes herself… you are not the “typical hot blonde” but you are “sexy” and yet you “look so young”. Not too sure where you are going with this  <—-Leo is confused, as am I 

“I moved to _______ from _________ five years ago” HOW OLD ARE YOU?!?! Because from this letter I am going to guess a teenage girl (I can only hope it’s written by a teenage girl) . 

“Some of my goals are to work with Cameron Crowe,” okay seems like a legit goal seeing as he is an academy award winning writer, “Denzel Washington” an amazing academy award winning actor, “and Dakota Fanning” WAIT WHAT?!?!? I would put the Leo picture (from above) here again but I am just going to move on…

*sigh* I am so sorry Hollywood hopeful but this is just not the way to be noticed and taken seriously in this town.
